Action Steps for Direct Selling Companies To Help Your Distributors and Customers During The COVID-19 Situation
Here are a few tips you as direct selling companies can implement right away to help your distributors during this COVID-19 situation.
Listen & Acknowledge
Ignoring Covid-19 or pretending like everything is normal can come across as inauthentic at best, and tone-deaf at worst. Let your customers, distributors and followers know that you’re listening and acknowledge our new normal.
Acknowledgment can go a long way in showing followers that you’re listening, caring. Example, “There’s a lot going on right now. During these uncertain times, we don’t exactly know what the future holds but we are here for you. This is a temporary situation that we will overcome together.”
Keep Posting
Email and social media, keep an active profile. Write a few pieces of social media posts and send them to your distributors for them to share on their social media.
What to share? Useful tips and information they can use for encouragement and build their business.
Create an Out of Stock List
If you are running low on product, create a list inside your App that users can check daily.
Use Notifications
Your distributors want to hear from you. People are living in times of uncertainty, hearing from you and knowing you are full steam ahead will create positivity and motivation.
Shipping Updates
Provide updates on shipping times. Be open and communicate with your users about shipping times. They will not be upset if you have open communication with them.
Engage with your distributors
Provide tasks that help them work on their business while they’re home.
Live Streaming
About the opportunity. About your products. You don’t have to sell anything. You just need to provide helpful information. The more you engage at this time the better it will be after we get out of this situation.
Co-Watching on Instagram
The new feature allows you to browse your Instagram account (feed, liked photos, etc.) together with your friends over video chat.
So make a chat with your distributors and discuss new announcements or go more in-depth for ways they can still connect with their customers.
HOW TO: Start a video chat by tapping the video chat icon in the Direct inbox or in an existing Direct thread. Once you’re video chatting, tap the photo icon in the bottom left corner. And that’s it. You can now browse saved, liked and suggested photos and videos with the people on video chat.
Creating a daily checklist for distributors including some non-business related tasks
- Reach out and check on one potential customer/distributor to see how they are doing.
- Complete one task in the app.
- Do something to keep you and your family active.
- Create a social media post to promote your business and or your products.
- Research a new hobby you’ve been interested in.
The way we do business might change forever after this Pandemia is over, for this reason, keeping an open mind with new tools and technologies to implement can help you gain an unfair advantage vs the companies that believe everything will be the same.
